US Webinar- Weathering Applications for Wood Coatings
Join Q-Lab for live event discussing weathering applications and wood coatings. We will present live on Thursday, 25 September at 8 am or 11 am EDT.
Paints, varnishes, and coatings applied to wood are important for many structural and building product applications. Outdoor and accelerated laboratory weathering testing programs have been used extensively for development and analysis of these coatings. In this webinar, Q-Lab's technical experts will review the use of different weathering test types used to test the durability of wood coatings, including:
- Natural outdoor testing in Florida and Arizona benchmark sites
- Q-TRAC natural solar concentrator testing, including freeze/thaw cycles
- UV fluorescent and xenon arc accelerated laboratory protocols
The webinar will conclude with the Arwood case study. This project was a large-scale research endeavor to develop an accelerated test that correlated very well to outdoor results for gloss and cracking density of wood coatings. The details of the program, as well as the resulting cycle's correlation to real-world results, will be shown and discussed.
This webinar will be presented in English.
