US Webinar: Why Test in Florida?
Florida - specifically, the subtropical climate of South Florida - has been the world's most important benchmark site for outdoor weathering testing for 100 years. The year-round bright sunshine, high temperatures, and abundant moisture have made Florida a critical component of any comprehensive outdoor materials durability testing program.
In this new webinar, Mike Crewdson - Q-Lab's Technical Director of Testing Services - will explain what aspects of Florida make it an ideal site for outdoor testing. Topics include:
- How natural Florida exposures accelerated testing by delivering the same weather as more temperate regions, just "more of it"
- A summary of world climate zones and breakdown of which regions Florida is best at reproducing
- Seasonal differences in sunlight, heat, and water between Florida and locations in the Temperate Zone
- An overview of how Florida's climate accelerates the chemical reactions driving weathering without generating unrealistic failures
Live presentations will be held at 8 am and 11 am EDT on Thursday, 13 August. Register for this free event using the form at right, and look for Part 2 the following week on Arizona Desert exposures.
