Primary Job Task & Responsibilities:

Review Materials Requirements Planning systems to manage inventory items

• Place new purchase orders in a timely fashion
• Manage existing purchase orders to ensure stock outs don’t occur
• Manage past due purchase orders by following-up with vendors
• Update systems with the latest information for visibility by the operations team

Manage suppliers and components

• Identify cost-savings opportunities
• Coordinate request for quotes to limit cost increases and/or realize cost-savings opportunities
• Source vendors for delivery performance, reliability, and quality
• Establish and maintain good long-term business relationships

Know Q-Lab’s manufacturing business

• Understand how manufacturing and operations use Q-Lab parts on the assembly floor
• Understand how parts function within Q-Lab’s products
• Understand how engineering changes and quality issues affect purchasing requirements

Skills and Abilities:

• Ultra-organized with a high sense of urgency
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Equivalent professional work experience or the raw intellectual aptitude
• For example: Materials Requirements Planning Tools, knowledge of how a manufacturing company works, ability to use Excel formulas and features, ability to perform basic financial analysis

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic in our Wittmann, AZ location. This position is responsible for the overall Maintenance of the Facility including machinery, facilities and grounds.

Maintenance Mechanic duties include:

• Understands, follows and enforces all established company safety, health, quality policies, procedures and recognized practices.
• Focus on maintaining quality services by monitoring quality levels and adjust the service and repair process to ensure testing integrity.
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain testing machines and the test facility’s equipment.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of testing equipment during operation and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of testing equipment as needed.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of testing machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to management
• Order parts needed for special projects, routine maintenance requirements, spare parts, tools and equipment needed
• Assist and train field and lab employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate’s degree (with at least 5 years of experience as a head mechanic, or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments and levels of the organization
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret instructions or operations manuals and follow step by step instructions.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic or mechanical, instrumentation; hydraulic and pneumatic operations; programmable controllers and their application and maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electric and other types of malfunctions of machinery and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic
• Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted bench and hand power tools
• Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges
• Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer when necessary
• Lift tools, machinery parts and other objects weighing up to 60 -80 pounds each
• Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping and reaching
• Standing for extended period of time
• Able to work under extreme conditions of the Arizona desert, such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.

Q-Lab is currently seeking a Sheet Metal Stamping and Fabrication Line Operator. Reporting to the Panel Production Supervisor, this position will be responsible for production and packaging of our standard and custom sheet metal paint test panels. The position requires a high attention to quality details and the use of industrial fabrication machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Continuous and consistent inspection of sheet metal part quality
• Precisely count sheet metal parts before packaging
• Ability to cross train and work any of the numerous areas within the department
• Detect and report unusual or defective materials to the supervisor
• Ability to learn and operate machinery

o Surface Grinder

o 20ton and 35ton OBI punch press

o Mechanical sheet metal shear

o Sheet metal press brake

o Sheet metal slip rollers

o Sand blaster

• Follow Lean Manufacturing 5S practices
• Operate a forklift to carry raw materials or completed product
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications for this role:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• Understanding of how to work from blueprints and written specifications
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Working knowledge of basic computer software
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 90% of work day if needed
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary
• Ability to work in loud conditions that require hearing protection
