Q-Lab Hosts Environmental Testing Masterclass

Our team recently hosted over 30 industry professionals at our Homestead, FL facility for a comprehensive two-day Environmental Testing Masterclass. The event was filled with educational sessions, combining classroom style presentations with hands-on training. 

Day 1: Understanding the Fundamentals

The first day covered essential weathering basics, including both natural and accelerated testing methods. Our experts explored:

• The forces of weathering and their impact on materials
• Data correlation and its critical role in testing programs
• Customized test programs tailored to specific applications
• Relevant test standards for various weathering scenarios

Through real-world case studies, attendees learned how properly designed test programs reduce manufacturing risk and provide reliable durability data for products.

Day 2: Hands-On Experience

Participants toured our Florida Subtropical Testing facility to see testing up-close and in-person. Highlights included:

• Live demonstrations of test preparation, examination, and analysis
• Expert presentations on maximizing testing program effectiveness
• A showcase of our 3D outdoor Q-TRAC model, which demonstrates accelerated outdoor testing by articulating, focusing, and directing sunlight onto target boards

The Value of Testing

The masterclass reinforced a fundamental question: Why test? Attendees gained clarity on how outdoor weathering testing provides the data manufacturers need to confidently stand behind their products' durability claims.
