Japan Webinar - Accelerated Outdoor Weathering Testing
This webinar covers accelerated outdoor weathering testing, including black box and automotive interior materials (AIM) box testing. A special emphasis is given to the Q-TRAC Natural Sunlight Concentrator from Q-Lab. This test instrument allows one to accelerate testing of highly weather-resistant products by delivering five times the ultraviolet (UV) light of a natural outdoor exposure while using the most realistic light spectrum available: the sun. This approach is ideal for materials like coil coatings, powder coatings, high-temperature plastics, roofing, and more.
Join Q-Lab and Sanyo Trading Co., Ltd. on Thursday, 21 August at 11 am JST. This webinar will be presented in Japanese.
Outdoor weathering testing is the most realistic way to gain valuable information about how products will last when exposed to the elements. However, outdoor testing of highly durable materials can take 5, 10, even 20 years - longer than most product development cycles. Laboratory accelerated weathering testing is often used to bridge this gap with faster results, but correlation to real outdoor testing is still required to validate lab testing. One solution is the use of Accelerated Outdoor Weathering to combine realistic exposure to elements with reduced test times.
This webinar will cover:
- Automotive interior testing using an AIM box
- A look at the Q-TRAC natural solar concentrator technology and benefits
- Materials and failure modes suitable for Q-TRAC testing
- Test durations and correlation to accelerated laboratory testing using a coatings case study
