Day 1 [Tuesday, 14 May]: Weathering Testing Fundamentals
We will provide practical, easy to understand information explaining the fundamentals of weathering and lightstability.
Attendees will learn:
- Forces of Weathering: how sunlight, heat, and water can damage materials
- Outdoor weathering testing: natural and accelerated
- Laboratory weathering testing: xenon-arc and fluorescent UV tester technologies
- Selecting test standards and developing weathering test programs
- Correlation between lab and outdoor testing, including case studies
Day 2 [Wednesday, 15 May]: Corrosion Testing Fundamentals
Our Technical Experts will present an overview of modern techniques for conducting accelerated testing of corrosion prevention strategies.
Attendees will learn:
- Fundamentals of corrosion, including chemistry, forms, and mitigation
- Outdoor corrosion testing and environmental characterization
- Laboratory accelerated corrosion testing history, from early continuous salt spray standards to modern cyclic testing
- Realistic testing for better correlation to actual service environments
- Best practices for laboratory corrosion, including test monitoring and verification, and specimen evaluation
Attendees will also have the opportunity to discuss their applications and ask questions. Lunch, refreshments, and course materials are provided, including a backstage tour of Nürburgring!
