About the Role:
We are looking for a Desktop Support Technician to provide customer service and technical support for Q-Lab employees worldwide. Reporting to the Business Systems Director, the successful candidate will troubleshoot, research, and resolve computer related problems.
Q-Lab’s team is responsible for managing an international VPN data network with six locations around the world. We have approximately 225 internal users, 300 computers, and 40 servers.

This will be a hybrid role with 40% WFH.
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical support for end user requests via phone, e-mail, and face-to-face requests
- Uses remote support tools to control end user PCs (e.g. remote desktop, Bomgar)
- Ensures timely follow-up and attention of end user support cases
- Documents, tracks, and monitors problems using the IT Help Desk system
- Recommends hardware and software improvements
Desired Experience and Skills:
- 2+ years’ experience supporting a Windows environment
- Exceptional troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting common software applications: Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Web Browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome), Anti-Virus
- Knowledge of PC hardware and peripheral device installation and troubleshooting (e.g. printers, label makers)
- Positive attitude, energetic, tackles tasks with a sense of urgency. You should love what you do!
- Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to both technical and non-technical end-users
