Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, this position will support the drafting needs of the Manufacturing department. The ideal candidate will have solid CAD drafting skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at once.
Q-Lab Corporation is a global leader in providing material durability testing products such as weathering testers, light stability testers and corrosion testers. We maintain a global presence with manufacturing facilities in the US and sales and distribution facilities in England, Germany and China. We also perform expert contract testing at our benchmark exposure locations in Florida and Arizona. Our world-class corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Westlake, Ohio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design 3D models of parts and assemblies
- Draw electrical and plumbing diagrams using industry standard symbols
- Measure and reverse engineer parts or assemblies
- Create detailed 2D drawings from 3D models
- Produce and enter Bills of Materials in our ERP system
- Interact with internal customers, vendors and engineering support staff
Qualifications for this role:
- Proficient in design software, including Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and AutoCAD
- Understand how to fully dimension and tolerance engineering drawings
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Engineering Change Process
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe suite preferred
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong technical writing skills with experience in creating technical instructions preferred
- Prior experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred
