Maintenance Mechanic (Wittmann, Arizona)

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic in our Wittmann, AZ location. This position is responsible for the overall Maintenance of the Facility including machinery, facilities and grounds.

Maintenance Mechanic duties include:

  • Understands, follows and enforces all established company safety, health, quality policies, procedures and recognized practices.
  • Focus on maintaining quality services by monitoring quality levels and adjust the service and repair process to ensure testing integrity.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain testing machines and the test facility’s equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of testing equipment during operation and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of testing equipment as needed.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of testing machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to management
  • Order parts needed for special projects, routine maintenance requirements, spare parts, tools and equipment needed
  • Assist and train field and lab employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree (with at least 5 years of experience as a head mechanic, or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments and levels of the organization
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions or operations manuals and follow step by step instructions.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic or mechanical, instrumentation; hydraulic and pneumatic operations; programmable controllers and their application and maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electric and other types of malfunctions of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic
  • Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted bench and hand power tools
  • Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer when necessary
  • Lift tools, machinery parts and other objects weighing up to 60 -80 pounds each
  • Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping and reaching
  • Standing for extended period of time
  • Able to work under extreme conditions of the Arizona desert, such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.
