Q-PANEL Standard Test Substrates: Webinar Recap

Q-Lab's Technical Marketing team recently presented a webinar on Q-Lab's original product: Q-PANEL standard test substrates. Throughout the presentation, the team discussed the history of the Q-PANEL, the various test panels Q-Lab offers, and additional Q-PANEL resources for customers to access.

History of the Q-PANEL

The Q-PANEL Company was founded in 1956 by George Grossman, addressing the need for uniform metal surfaces to eliminate substrate-related variables in paint testing. Today, the Q-Lab team produces more paint test panels - by far - than anyone in the world. Each panel is pre-cleaned and packed in corrosion-inhibiting paper, offering up to a 10-year shelf life, and are ready for immediate use in most applications.

Since 1956, the Q-PANEL has become the most widely-recognizable test substrate in the world, thanks to the "Q" shaped hanging hole that gave our company its name. The purpose of this hole is to clearly indicate which side of the panel is guaranteed for testing. Look for the Q-shaped hole. It’s our trademark, and your assurance of quality.

Q-PANEL Types

Q-Lab offers a wide variety of standard Q-PANEL substrates for almost any testing need:

These consistent, clean, convenient, and cost-effective test substrates are relied upon by paints, automotive, building products, and a host of other industries.
